Micah Parsons sends a warning that should have Caleb Williams’ full attention ahead of the 2026 season
If the NFL sees Caleb Williams as the new shiny piece, the Packers star edge defender wants to be the anti-hero next season.
The NFL is pretty high on Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, but Green Bay Packers star defender Micah Parsons is getting ready to challenge that perception.
On Friday, the league released a video showing that Williams was the 51st player on the offseason Top 100. That’s wild considering Jordan Love was just 72nd on the list and has been materially better throughout their NFL careers so far.
Micah Parsons wants to challenge the Ice Man
The central topic of the video is Williams’ nickname “The Ice Man.” Predictably, it shows several Williams’ highlights during the Bears’ two wins over the Packers last season. But none of these games had Parsons on the field, because they happened after his ACL injury.
With Parsons on the field, the Packers won 28-21 at Lambeau Field. And the star defender won’t let the NFL world forget that.
“Yeah, we’re gonna have to correct some of the things this year,” Parsons said. “Because where there’s ice, there’s also fire, and I’m the fire.”
Parsons didn’t sack Caleb Williams in that game, but the edge defender did generate seven pressures. Parsons had five hurries and two hits on the Bears quarterback. And considering how the next two Packers-Bears games went, it’s reasonable to say that the story could’ve easily been different with Parsons on the field.
Rivalry is much more exciting now
The fact is that the Packers-Bears rivalry is much funnier now with Williams on the Bears and Parsons on the Packers. Now, it’s a matter of when those players will face off again.
If Micah Parsons is able to recover quickly from his ACL injury, there’s a scenario where he returns exactly against the Bears in Week 5 at Lambeau Field on Oct. 11. If Parsons misses more time, the matchup will have to wait until Dec. 25, when Packers and Bears face off on Christmas Day on Netflix at Soldier Field.
