It's no secret the Oklahoma Sooners have been looking for wide receiver talent in the portal, setting up multiple visits with players throughout the last two weeks.

They are still looking for that dynamite piece to help take their offense to the next level in 2025. Fortunately, that piece might have just popped up in the transfer portal on Tuesday.

Former five-star wide receiver and USC Trojan Zachariah Branch entered the transfer portal, along with his brother, Zion. The two are seeking to play together at their next spot.

A First-Team All-American in 2023, Branch led the Trojans in receptions this year and was among the team's leaders in receiving yards, but never really seemed to quite have the same impact.

Right away, On3's Pete Nakos listed early schools to watch for Branch in the transfer portal, and the Oklahoma Sooners appeared on the list.

"Similar to Miami, Oklahoma does not have a quarterback but is prioritizing John Mateer in the portal. The Sooners are also trying to revamp their wide receiver room, and a strong starting point would be to add one of the fastest players in the nation. Zachariah Branch was reportedly recorded on a treadmill sprint at 26 miles per hour in 2023."

People forget that Oklahoma was a finalist to land Branch just two years ago in the class of 2022. Granted, they changed coaching staffs since, but if Branch is disgruntled at Lincoln Riley, going to the Sooners would be a nice, petty touch.

Oklahoma has been slow to get going in the transfer portal, but they are expected to pick up over the course of this week and next week. Last year, wide receivers coach Emmett Jones shocked the world picking up top wide receiver Deion Burks out of the portal. Could lightning strike twice here? We'll see.
