The Oklahoma Sooners lost quarterback Jackson Arnold early in the transfer portal process, which is something that most of us expected even during the middle of the season. And, it's starting to look like he will either end up with the Mississippi State Bulldogs or the Auburn Tigers.
And, as the Sooners start to look for another quarterback in the portal, as John Mateer is a guy that continues to be linked to the Sooners. It's clear they will be looking for another QB, even after signing soon-to-be freshman Jett Niu in this 2025 class.
And now, they may have to find two more.
According to Pete Nakos of On3, the Sooners are losing Brendan Zurbrugg to the transfer portal as well.
Zurbrugg is a name that, to be honest, a large part of the fan base didn't even know was on the team, as sad as that sounds. But, he was a body they had in case of injury, and he was a kid they were developing, whom they thought had a good amount of talent.
Now, he will enter the portal, and most likely try to find somewhere he can compete for a starting job and play. And, he deserves that.
