Oklahoma Sooners head coach Brent Venables celebrated the win over Alabama in the funniest way possible
When the Oklahoma Sooners beat the Alabama Crimson Tide last week in one of the biggest shocks of the season, everyone went crazy. When the Oklahoma Sooners beat the Alabama Crimson Tide last week in one of the biggest shocks of the season, everyone went crazy. I'm sure some frat houses had some pretty big parties if they weren't already, and you could tell the people at the game threw themselves a party by storming the field.
When Brent Venables left the stadium, after doing his media availability, I'm sure he couldn't really think of a way to celebrate just yet. He was with his family, as you saw in the post-game interview, and they had the brightest idea.
The whole state of Oklahoma can relate to this, too.
"The girls said let's go to Taco Bell, man, let's go," Venables said to the media on Tuesday. "It was a long line, but it was worth the wait. It was so long I had to go inside and take a bathroom break while we waited for the food. We had to pull over because we ordered so much food – they couldn't get it all ready. We ordered everything. And whatever they put inside of a tortilla, the crunchy stuff, man, it's freaking — I have no idea what it was. We smashed that and had some fun. It was good. It was worth the wait."
With everything that Brent Venables has been through this year, whether it be the coaching side of his life or personal, and I don't need to get into all of the details, as you all probably already know, let's just say he deserves some Taco Bell. That was a huge win, and literally, no one in their right mind thought the Sooners were going to win it.
With a win like that, one over Alabama, he and his family definitely deserve some Taco Bell.
Next, the Sooners will play the LSU Tigers as their last regular season game, and with that win over Alabama, the Sooners are eligible to play in a bowl game, making that 26 straight seasons with a bowl game.
Freshman phenom running back carries Sooners into miracle upset over Alabama Crimson Tide
If you had told Oklahoma fans in the preseason that they would have had a freshman running back pave the way for the Sooners in an upset victory over Alabama, many would have pointed to five-star recruit Taylor Tatum. Instead, it was Xavier Robinson, the unheralded three-star from down the road in Oklahoma City, who […]
