The Buffalo Bills have been relatively quiet this offseason.

Unfortunately, the most noise that the team had made was the decision not to bring back Tremaine Edmunds.

The talented linebacker who has spent his career in Buffalo agreed to a deal with the Chicago Bears. At nearly the same time, Buffalo announced a deal to help protect Josh Allen. The team agreed on a contract with former Dallas Cowboys guard, Connor McGovern.

The quiet offseason has quickly heated up as Field Yates, NFL Insider, broke the news of Brandon Beane's most important decision this offseason.

Buffalo was able to free up nearly $32M in cap space by restructuring the contracts of Josh Allen and Von Miller.

Beane has been hard at work to try and put the Bills in a better situation, cap-wise. Tim Settle's re-negotiation and Matt Milano's extension were both decisions with cap space in mind. In order to fill the roster, Buffalo needed money. This decision does just that, allows Beane to go out and get some more help for Josh Allen or add to some open positions now left on the defensive side of the football.

Both Josh Allen and Von Miller's massive contracts allowed Brandon Beane and co. to get creative with their restructures.

With two simple moves, the team has set themselves up to make a run at some available players. Especially considering Edmunds's departure and uncertainty with Poyer, the team may have some very expensive positions to fill.
