Bills re-sign one of its most effective weapons
The Buffalo Bills are reportedly re-signing one of its most underrated weapons.
The Buffalo Bills are kicking off one of the busiest weeks of the offseason by re-signing punter Sam Martin.
The Bills inked Martin to a three-year deal worth up to $7.5 million according to Mike Garafolo.
Martin joined the Bills last offseason after spending his first nine season playing for the Lions and Broncos. He was effective punting in the harsh conditions Buffalo is known for, finishing with his second-highest yards per punt (47.7) in his 10-year career.
Though playing conditions didn’t do him many favors, Martin finished 13th in the NFL in yards per punt, pinning opponents inside the 20-yard-line on 35.6 percent of his boots.
Martin is one of the first dominos to fall as the free agency period officially gets underway on Wednesday March 15. Look for Buffalo to take care of some of its in-house guys before moving on to the vast pool of external free agent options.
