How to watch Penn State Nittany Lions season opener vs. Nevada Wolfpack: Can Drew Allar take the next step?
The first step in finding out if Penn State is legit happens this Saturday
The Penn State Nittany Lions are set to kick off their 2025 season on Saturday afternoon when they host the Nevada Wolfpack in Happy Valley. One year after the Notre Dame Fighting Irish sneaked past the Nittany Lions to advance to the National Championship Game, head coach James Franklin is looking to take them ot the promised land.
In order to get there, the Nittany Lions are going to need quarterback Drew Allar to take the next step in his development. Can he elevate the passing game to the next level to balance out the running game led by Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen?
After having to rely on Tyler Warren as essentially their entire passing game, Franklin hit the transfer portal at wide receiver, bringing in Kyron Hudson, Devonte Ross, and Trebor Pena to bring some weapons to the outside, something that they haven’t had in some time.
Their first challenge will be Nevada, who is a feisty team under head coach Jeff Choate. However, it should be an easy game. Even so, we can learn a lot about what this Penn State team can be in a game like this. Here’s how you can watch.
