Texas A&M Aggies, Mike Elko trending strong to pull off historic recruiting haul thanks to developing priority targets
The Aggies could be getting a slew of elite targets to add to what looks like a historic recruiting class.
The Texas A&M Aggies haven’t slowed down from a strong 2025 season, translating that success on the field into a tidal wave of momentum off the field to set up their 2027 recruiting class. Their class, sitting second on 247Sports’ rankings, is shaping up to what could be a historic class and a resounding victory for head coach Mike Elko and the job he has done with the Aggies.
The Aggies are in prime position for landing not just one, but multiple five-stars and other elite recruits to set the stage for Mike Elko’s next chapter as head coach at Texas A&M.
Texas A&M Aggies in prime position for elite recruiting haul
The Aggies already have ten commitments in the 2027 class and aren’t showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Five-star EDGE rusher Zyron Forstall told Steve Wiltfong that the Aggies were at the top of his board, and Forstall, the top-ranked pass rusher in the class, has aalready been predicted to join A&M’s class. However, he isn’t the only five-star A&M has all the momentum with. Offensive tackles Kennedy Brown and Mark Matthews have both been priority targets for the Aggies, and both will be visiting in the coming months alongside five star IOL Albert Simien. Cornerback John Meredith, a likely candidate for the top prospect in the 2027 class, has felt like a virtual lock to the Aggies despite the top heavy-hitters in college football all making a push for him.
Additionally, a pair of four-star recruits have begun trending A&M’s way as well, and both are in-state prospects. Offensive lineman Ismael Camara, one of the top guards and a gargantuan at 6’6, 335 pounds, has already locked in a visit with the Aggies and has become a priority target for A&M to lock in over his visit.
Richmond Randle star running back Landen Williams-Callis is A&M’s top recruiting priority at running back, and running backs coach Trooper Taylor is sending the house to get him to College Station. While they haven’t set up a visit yet, I expect one will be coming in the next few months.
