‘This one has a chance to stay pretty close for a really long time’ – ESPN’s Greg McElroy predicts the final score of LSU vs Kentucky
The LSU Tigers will travel to Lexington this weekend for a road matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.
The LSU Tigers will look to avoid a “letdown” this weekend in a road matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Saturday will mark the first matchup between the two programs since 2021 when Kentucky beat LSU 42-21 in Lexington.
ESPN’s Greg McElroy predicts the final score of LSU vs Kentucky
ESPN’s Greg McElroy, a former Alabama quarterback, made his predictions on Tuesday for this weekend’s biggest games, and he has LSU just barely getting by Kentucky.
“I’m taking the LSU Tigers to win the game 30-24,” said McElroy. “I think they’re going to win this game with the pass rush, and I do think there’s going to be plenty of opportunities for LSU’s defensive front to create some advantages behind the line of scrimmage.
“But with (LSU QB) Sam Leavitt still a little bit limited right now, I think this one has a chance to stay pretty close for a really long time. Kentucky’s comeback last week (against South Carolina) was historic, but against this pass rush, they can’t afford to be playing from behind from start to finish.”
It’s never easy to win on the road in the SEC. Kentucky isn’t as daunting of a venue as some other places in the conference, but it can still be a challenge.
LSU would love to win this game by multiple touchdowns, and maybe they do, but just simply getting the win is the top objective for the Tigers on Saturday night in Lexington.
