Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins doesn't know what's going to happen with him in the next four weeks. The only thing he knows is something will happen.

Higgins' franchise tender will expire when the new NFL league year begins on March 12. If the Bengals don't place a second franchise tag on him between February 18-March 4 or sign him to a new contract before free agency begins, the chances of him leaving Cincinnati increase exponentially.

Before all of that happens, Higgins wants the world to know he'll be the one breaking the news first.

Higgins took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to tell Bengals fans, and everyone else interested in his playing future, that he'll let them know about what's going on before anyone else gets the chance.

Cryptic player posts are fairly common, and Higgins has had his fair share in the past, but this message seems fairly clear. The 26-year old is set to be the most sought-after free agent available next month if Cincinnati allows him to test the market. It's extremely rare for receivers of his caliber to end up in that position, but it's absolutely a possibility.

In a group with Ja'Marr Chase, Trey Hendrickson, and Mike Gesicki, Higgins is also set to be handled first by the Bengals due to the nature of timing. Chase and Hendrickson can be extended after the bulk of free agency passes as they're still under contract for 2025. The two-week window to place a second tag on Higgins opens in a week. Gesicki will also be a free agent in a month's time, but should be easier to retain during free agency in comparison.

If Higgins is coming back, we'll find that out sooner than later. Will he be the one to break the news? It'd be fun if it played out that way.
