The New Orleans Saints' draft plan needs to be a good one for Kellen Moore's first offseason as an NFL head coach. They've shown interest in multiple quarterback prospects that are widely expected to go in the first round of the upcoming draft.

Jaxson Dart, Shedeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe, and even more QB prospects all seem to be on New Orleans' radar as they look ahead to their long-term future at the position. They may not go in the QB direction that some expect at the moment, though.

Saints may pass on Jaxson Dart with 9th pick

According to Nick Underhill, he would be surprised if the Saints took Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with the ninth overall pick.

Dart has been the pick for New Orleans in multiple recent mock drafts around the NFL media world. Todd McShay mocked Dart to the Saints at nine in his latest run through the first round.

This mock draft pick follows a report from ESPN's Jordan Reid earlier this week, too. He noted the Saints' interest in Dart. The experienced NFL Draft analyst mentioned New Orleans as a potential landing spot for the Ole Miss quarterback at ninth overall.

Sources: Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart visited today with the Cleveland Browns, and will next fly to Las Vegas to visit the Raiders, sources tell me and @FieldYates.

Dart also has spent “considerable time” during this interview process with the Giants, Saints and Rams. — Adam Schefter on April 8th

Kellen Moore was in attendance for the Ole Miss Pro Day, where Dart worked out and talked to scouts, coaches, and organization members.

We will see if Dart is, in fact, the Saints' focus in the top ten. As of now, one of the most trusted sources for the team doesn't think it's the most likely outcome.

Keep in mind – it's also a possibility that the Saints select a higher ranked prospect with the ninth overall selection, then trading back into the back half of the first round to draft Dart, too. Let's see how it all unfolds.
