Pat McAfee might be one the biggest personalities in all of sports entertainment right now, but he came from humble beginnings in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

And to give back to the members of his community, he's holding a special show on Wednesday, April 9th, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, code-named Big Night AHT.

Given his friendship with Aaron Rodgers, many have assumed that Rodgers has been holding out his announcement to the Steelers to do it live in Pittsburgh.

Mark Kaboly, a reporter for the Pat McAfee Show, says think again…

Don't Expect Aaron Rodgers at Pat McAfee's Big Night Aht

The announcement of Rodgers to the Steelers feels like a certainty at this point. The question is now when, not if. After meetings, throwing sessions, and positive PR from the Steelers brass, it feels like a done deal.

So, what is holding things up?

That is the million dollar question at this point, and it's why the hypothesis of Rodgers announcement at Big Night AHT has been rumored so heavily. Because truthfully, not much else makes sense in terms of him waiting.

But we have now seen Gerry Dulac call said hypothesis ridiculous, Mark Kaboly say he doesn't expect it to happen, and Pat McAfee himself say that it would be a surprise to him if Aaron Rodgers decided to show up.

So, while it's unlikely to happen on Wednesday night, there is a date to watch that's relatively soon…

"If Aaron Rodgers is gonna play football in 2025, it is going to be for the Pittsburgh Steelers," said Ian Rapoport on NFL Network's Good Morning Football on Monday. "Would not be surprised if there was an announcement from him over the next couple weeks. It has to be theoretically before the draft, because if the Steelers don't get an answer by late April, they will likely draft a quarterback." "In fact, they may draft a quarterback anyway."

So don't worry, the wait should end soon. Just don't expect it to happen on Wednesday, April 9th.

Unless, of course, Aaron Rodgers decides to be Aaron Rodgers and throw a wrench in things.
