Aaron Rodgers' time with the New York Jets did not go how anyone expected. 

Just 75 seconds into his debut with the Jets in the 2023 season, Rodgers suffered an Achilles tendon rupture, ending his year. And then in 2024, he made his return, playing in Monday Night Football in Week 1 of the 2024 season. 

However, after just two seasons, one of which he didn't even play due to injury, the Jets announced that they were parting ways with the four-time NFL MVP. 

So, what's next for Rodgers? 

Even he's not sure yet. 

When speaking on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Thursday, Rodgers said that he has yet to make a decision for the 2025 season. Playing for another team is a possibility, but so is retirement.  

"From the jump, I'm in a different phase of my life. I'm 41 years old, I'm in a serious relationship, and have off-the-field stuff going on that requires my attention," Rodgers said. "I have a lot of things that are taking my attention, and have beginning in January, away from football. That's been where I've been focusing my attention on. Making a commitment to a team is a big thing."

"I told every single team, it ain't about the money … I said I'd play for 10 M's," he added. "I don’t care. I never once said I needed a multi-year deal."

Rodgers confirmed that he had spoken with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency. However, the Giants now have Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, while the Vikings are going all in on J.J. McCarthy. 

So that would just leave the Steelers. 

"I’m open to anything and attached to nothing. So yeah, retirement still could be a possibility," Rodgers stated. "But right now my focus has been and will continue to be on my personal life."
