A veteran Tennessee Vols defender entered the NCAA transfer portal on Thursday.

Defensive back Christian Charles, a rising redshirt senior, announced on Thursday that he's entering the transfer portal after spending the first four seasons of his career at Tennessee.

Charles wrote in a social media post that Knoxville has been "great" to him and that he'll "always bleed orange".

Charles, 6-foot-1/200 lbs from Gainesville, GA, is a former three-star recruit who signed with the Volunteers during the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The Georgia native played in 30 career games with seven starts at Tennessee. Charles totaled 71 tackles and three tackles for loss during his four seasons on Rocky Top.

Charles' most memorable moment at Tennessee came in 2022 when he recovered a fumble on special teams in the Vols' thrilling 52-49 win against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Charles has one year of eligibility remaining.
