USC Trojans are predicted to extend the gap in 2026 recruiting even more than it already is
The 2026 class has been pretty much dominated by the USC Trojans. The 2026 class has been pretty much dominated by the USC Trojans. The Oregon Ducks and LSU Tigers have had some of their own moments, but really, it's been all Trojans when it comes to the biggest headlines recruiting-wise.
And, they aren't slowing down anytime soon, either. They just landed a five-star tight end in Mark Bowman, and are now looking like they are about to land another four-star player, adding to their already 16 that they have, with the No. 2 class in LSU having six.
Trojans predicted to land 2026 four-star CB
Peyton Dyer is a four-star cornerback from Georgia, and one of the best in the country at what he does, which makes it even more surprising that he likely won't be going to Georgia after this prediction has him going to USC. At 6'1" and 190 pounds, he has the size and athleticism to excel as a defensive back in the Big 10. On3 ranks him as the No. 275 overall prospect, No. 24 cornerback, and No. 31 player in Georgia.
Dyer committed to South Carolina in November 2024 but decommitted in April 2025 to explore other options after communication issues with the Gamecocks staff. Georgia, USC, Tennessee, Penn State, and Ohio State are now the main schools pursuing him.
He has already done his official visit with the Trojans and has one with Georgia on June 13, and South Carolina on June 20 in 2025. Georgia is a strong contender, though, as they are for every big prospect after Dyer felt “at home” during a May 2025 visit.
Dyer’s versatility is what can help him at the next level, as he’s played both cornerback and wide receiver in high school. With 28 scholarship offers from programs like Louisville and Ole Miss, his recruitment has been highly competitive. If USC lands him, it will just be another commitment that puts them over the top and extends the gap they already have.
Former Trojan wants Lane Kiffin back at USC as the head coach
Former Trojans wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson knows who he wants hired to replace Clay Helton as the head coach at USC. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin. That's right. Johnson, who played for the Trojans from 1994-1995, said this week on ESPN that if Kiffin's Rebels manage to upset Alabama this weekend, then Kiffin should […]
