It seems like it was just yesterday Odell Beckham Jr. was making unbelievable plays on the field as a member of the New York Giants.
The Giants drafted the superstar WR in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and he spent the first five years of his career with the team before being traded to the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2019 season. A trade he now says he never wanted to happen.
Odell Beckham Jr. didn't want to be traded away from the Giants
In a recent interview, Beckham Jr. shared that he "never, ever wanted to leave the New York Giants." He also said that while he hopes the Giants win another Super Bowl in the future, he admitted that seeing someone else do what he dreamed of but ultimately was never able to do with the franchise would also sting.
During his time with the Giants, Beckham Jr. recorded 390 receptions, 5,476 yards, and 44 touchdowns. He had over 1,000 yards receiving and at least six receiving touchdowns in four of his five seasons with the Giants. The only season he didn't was in 2015 when he only played in four games due to a season-ending injury. After being traded away, Beckham Jr. played for the Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins. The biggest moment of his career came with the Rams, where he was able to see his dream become a reality by becoming a Super Bowl champion.
No matter how things ended, I think Giants fans will never forget Beckham Jr.'s time with the team fondly. He became one of the most famous players in the NFL during his time in New York. While he wasn't able to win the team a Super Bowl, his talent on the field and infectious personality made him a fan favorite from the start. So, it probably feels nice for fans to hear that he would have preferred never to be traded away from New York.

Roger Goodell hints at a potential NFL rule change that would benefit the New York Giants and a few other teams in a big way
The New York Giants were able to add multiple solid players in the 2025 NFL Draft. Including two first-round selections in Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart.
