Josh Allen draws praise from arguably the top wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft class, and they would be a dynamic pairing
By the sounds of it, one of the top wide receivers available in the 2025 NFL Draft sure wouldn't mind playing with Josh Allen. By the sounds of it, one of the top wide receivers available in the 2025 NFL Draft sure wouldn't mind playing with Josh Allen.
Emeka Egbuka, the savvy and polished wide receiver out of Ohio State, was asked at the NFL Scouting Combine who his favorite quarterback were in the NFL. His answer included Allen.
"Josh Allen, MVP. He's doing everything the right way," Egbuka said.
At this point, I would consider it unlikely that Egbuka lasts until the Bills are on the clock, but if he's available, or if they traded to go get him, he would bring an incredibly smart and talented wide receiver into the room.
Egbuka would be the exact antithesis of the Bills selecting Keon Coleman last year. At 6'3" 215 lbs but raw as a route runner, the Bills went with the high ceiling and athletic profile of the young Coleman, hoping to see him develop into a strong threat on the outside. Egbuka is polar opposite — he's mature and savvy but not as physically dominant, standing roughly 6'1" 205 lbs, has a ton of experience in one of the best programs and easily the best wide receiver room in the country, is a silky and explosive route runner, and has a cerebral understanding of what opposing defenses are trying to do. Egbuka is already 22 years old, playing four years at Ohio State. Coleman, with a year of NFL experience under his belt, is still only 21.
The Bills are looking for someone that can stretch the field vertically, can make plays after the catch, and can win against man coverage. While Egbuka might not run a 4.2 40-yard dash, he offers plenty of what Buffalo is looking for. Put bluntly, he's just a pro's pro. He understands how to play the wide receiver position, and would provide another incredibly reliable target for the reigning MVP Josh Allen. If somehow this match came to be, it would be fireworks.
