The Tennessee Vols' incredible social media team (arguably the best in college football) dropped an awesome must-see video of UT head coach Josh Heupel on Saturday that fans will undoubtedly enjoy.
The video features the "backward hat" version of Heupel while he coaches various Tennessee players during spring practice.
It's a great behind-the-scenes look at Heupel's coaching approach and the way he blends teaching moments with praise.
One of the best parts of that video is near then end when Heupel tells the group that elite players learn from "their buddies' mistakes" and avoid making the same mistake (certainly wise advice for any athlete at any level).
"Backward hat Heupel" has become somewhat of a fan favorite over the last couple of years. Every time the Vols' creative team puts out a video with Heupel in a backward hat, it always seems like the Tennessee head coach has a little extra juice.
Former Vols wide receiver Chas Nimrod, in fact, was asked about Heupel's backward hat energy last year during fall camp (Nimrod transferred to USF following the 2024 season).
"Oh most definitely for sure…he's just coming with the juice that day, ready to attack the day," said Nimrod when asked if Heupel has different energy when his hat is backward.
Maybe Heupel should go with the backward hat on game days in 2025.
Hey, it worked for Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders this past season.
