The Tennessee Vols kicked off March with a bang on Saturday, taking down the Alabama Crimson Tide 79-76 thanks to a buzzer beating three-pointer from guard Jahmai Mashack.

Tennessee's thrilling win against Alabama was an instant classic, setting the stage for what will undoubtedly be a wild month of basketball.

Auburn Tigers head coach Bruce Pearl, who was the head coach at Tennessee from 2005 to 2011, showed some love for the Vols after UT's win against Alabama, tweeting ""VFL and War Damn Eagle!"

Earlier in the day, Auburn beat Kentucky 94-78 in Lexington.

Auburn won the SEC regular season title outright as a result of Tennessee’s win against Alabama.

Pearl has seemingly always had a soft spot for Tennessee since getting fired (due to an NCAA investigation) in 2011. There's no doubt that Pearl is all-in at Auburn, but he still has plenty of love for the Volunteers (kinda like Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and the Vols).

It wouldn't be a surprise if Tennessee and Auburn meet again this season — in either the SEC Tournament or the NCAA Tournament. Both programs are legitimate national championship contenders as we enter the best stretch of college basketball of the year.
