Florida Gators history in National Semifinals
This is the sixth time the Gators have made the Final Four and the first time they have made it since 2014 That was a fantastic season where the Gators finished 36-3, but their two losses came to the eventual National Champion UConn Huskies. They avenged that loss in the Sweet 16 this year.
Their five National Semifinal appearances have only resulted in three wins, but the Gators have never missed the Final Four when they have gotten a one seed.
- 1994: 4 seed, lost to 2 seed Duke 70-65
- 2000: 5 seed, beat 8 seed North Carolina 71-59
- 2006: 3 seed, beat 11 seed George Mason 73-58
- 2007: 1 seed, beat 2 seed UCLA 76-66
- 2014: 1 seed, lost to 7 seed UConn 63-53
Saturday's game against Auburn and a potential National Championship Game against either Duke or Houston will be the third and fourth times the Gators will have faced a number one seed in the Final Four. This will be the first time they will face a one-seed in the National Semifinals.
- 2000: 5 seed, lost to Michigan State 89-76 in National Championship Game
- 2007: 1 seed, beat Ohio State 84-75 in National Championship Game
