Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Tyler Baron is expected to hear his name called at some point during the 2025 NFL Draft.

Baron, who spent the first four years of his college career at Tennessee, spent the 2024 season with the Miami Hurricanes (after a brief spring stint at Louisville).

The former Tennessee standout finished his college career with 139 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, and 19 sacks. Baron's best season came during his final season at Tennessee in 2023 when he totaled 6.0 sacks, two passes defensed, and a fumble recovery that was returned for a touchdown.

There was some speculation last summer that Baron could potentially sneak into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The latest mock draft from ESPN, however, has Baron falling to the sixth round.

ESPN's Matt Miller has the Green Bay Packers selecting Baron with the No. 198 overall selection (Round 6) in this year's draft.

There's no doubt that Baron is hoping to be selected much earlier than the sixth round. But Baron can look to a couple of former Vols, such as Trey Smith and Jauan Jennings, as evidence that where you're drafted doesn't necessarily dictate how your NFL career will play out (Smith was a sixth round pick in 2021 and he just received the franchise tag from the Kansas City Chiefs, while Jennings was a seventh round pick in 2020 and received a contract extension from the San Francisco 49ers last year).

I wouldn't be surprised if Baron goes earlier than the sixth round. But you never know how the draft will play out. All if takes is one team to fall in love with a certain player to completely change the trajectory of the entire draft.
