The NFL Scouting Combine kicks off this week and that brings us one step closer to the NFL draft, which is going to be huge for the Cleveland Browns.
Cleveland needs a quarterback and they pick No. 2 overall. With the Tennessee Titans ahead of them and needing a quarterback too, the Browns might not be able to get the guy they want. It isn’t a given that the Browns take a QB at No. 2, they could make moves in free agency and later in the draft too.
Browns GM Andrew Berry sounds sky-high on Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
“We got a chance to spend some time with Shedeur at the East-West, we’ll get some time to spend with him during the upcoming week,” Berry said at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday. “He’s a fantastic individual, really smart, really driven. Grew up around football and was highly successful. It’s been a pleasure to spend time with him, looking forward to spending more over the next several weeks.”
If the Browns are going to take a QB at No. 2, it will come down to Sanders or Cam Ward, the top two quarterbacks in this class. Sanders is the most accurate quarterback in the draft and his play style could fit right in with how Kevin Stefanski likes to run his offense.
Of course, there are two months until the NFL draft and plenty can change. Getting through free agency will make the Browns’ draft plans more clear when that time comes. Even if the Browns sign a quarterback (they will), Cleveland has to bring in a rookie to develop as well. Deshaun Watson is expected to miss significant time in 2025, potentially the whole season. Even if he was healthy, the Browns can not count on him to be the guy.
Berry isn’t going to tip his cards, but the Browns GM sounds like a fan of Sanders and his game. We’ll see if it gets him to Cleveland in April.

Would be a win-win for the Browns.
