Top QB prospect Cam Ward sends a warning to the Titans, Browns, and Giants about drafting him ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft
Cam Wards sends a warning about draft him.
NASHVILLE – Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is one of the top QB prospects in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. Ward is one of the four players that is considered an option to be selected with the first overall pick.
Unlike many years in the past, the 2025 draft class does not have a slam dunk choice to come off the board first. It's all going to be about positional value and the preference of the team picking. The Tennessee Titans currently own the No. 1 overall pick and are therefore holding the keys to the entire draft.
After the Titans, the Cleveland Browns (No.2) and New York Giants (No.3) will be on the clock. All three teams are in need of a quarterback, but there are only two QB prospects worthy of being selected that early – Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
Ward's Warning
At least one of the Titans, Browns, and Giants is going to come away from their first pick without a QB. Will Tennessee or Cleveland pass on the opporuntity to take one? Or will the Giants turn their nose up at an opportunity to trade up and get their guy?
While Cam Ward was being awarded the Davey O'Brien Award, a recognition for the nation's top college quarterback, he sent a warning to those teams picking at the top of the draft.
"You're either going to draft me or you're not," Ward told The AP. "If you don't draft me, that's your fault. You've got to remember you're the same team that's got to play me for the rest of my career, and I'll remember that."
Translation: Draft me or you'll regret it and I'll make you pay…That's really putting it all out there. These are the types of decisions that get head coaches and GMs fired. When you're in a position to land a franchise quarterback, you need to get it right. If Ward is forever holding a grudge, proving you wrong, and dunking on your franchise, it won't bode well for one's future job security.
The 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin with the first round beginning on April 24th.
