They are officially one step closer to finding their next general manager. The team released five candidates who will move on to the next round of their ongoing search.
Jaguars name 5 finalists for their open GM job
The Jaguars started their search for a general manager later than fans would have preferred. But that didn't stop them from getting to interview multiple top candidates across the league. After casting a wide net in their search for their next GM, the Jaguars have now narrowed their search down to five candidates, all of whom are well-respected across the NFL.
- Ethan Waugh: Interim Jacksonville Jaguars General Manager
- Ian Cunningham: Chicago Bears Assistant General Manager
- James Gladstone: Los Angeles Rams Director of Scouting Strategy
- Jon-Eric Sullivan: Green Bay Packers Vice President of Player Personnel
- Josh Williams: San Francisco 49ers Director of Scouting and Football Operations
These five candidates are now moving on to what many believe will be the team's final round of interviews. Each will meet with the Jaguars in person to discuss the position. They will each get to pitch their philosophy and plan for running the team, as well as why they would form a great partnership with head coach Coen and his staff.
After hearing the Jaguars' list of finalists, fans have a much better idea of who could become their new GM. Will the team keep a familiar face around in interim GM Ethan Waugh or go with one of the other four very qualified candidates to lead their football team?
