It appears as though Mario Cristobal has been making some inroads with one of the more intriguing players in the Lone Star State for the 2026 class.
According to Chad Simmons of On3 Sports, 2026 DeSoto, Texas wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster now has the Miami Hurricanes among schools he's interested in visiting.
Feaster is particularly noteworthy because he was one of the top players of the 2027 class before he reclassified last week to the 2026 class. Per On3 Sports, he was the #4 overall player in the 2027 class before the jump. Now, he's listed as the #73 overall player, #9 wide receiver, and #7 player in the state of Texas, per On3. Rivals has Feaster as a 5-star and the #15 overall player.
Feaster, who's totaled 22 receiving touchdowns the last two years, noted his top three of LSU, Texas A&M, and USC as of now. He has June official visits set up with the Tigers and Trojans and wants to set ones up for the Aggies and Texas Longhorns.
However, Miami still has his attention as a program he'd like to visit. He wants to check out Miami because it is a "great place to be", which from a weather, self-promotion, business, and entertainment perspective is hard to argue with.
The Hurricanes desperately need an influx of young talent at the wide receiver position, and they could offer an early opportunity at playing time in addition to NIL considerations. Shannon Dawson's offense also has helped wide receivers Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George have big seasons that have put them in position to hear their names called in April during the NFL Draft. That could be a big sales point moving forward for Cristobal to wideouts.
We'll see in the coming months if he can find a way to get Feaster on campus and the Canes further in the mix for a player they could surely use.
