Biggest Games on the Jets 2025 Schedule
Week 1: vs Pittsburgh Steelers. This will be the chance for Aaron Glenn to showcase what he is trying to build and to likely do it against the man he got rid of to build it in Aaron Rodgers. The same can be said for Justin Fields who will want to show the Steelers that they made a mistake in benching him and a bigger mistake in letting him leave the team.
Week 11: at New England Patriots. The Jets wanted Mike Vrabel in their coaching search and he used them to get New England to make a move. Now the Jets are likely to face Vrabel and Drake Maye for years to come and you don't want another embarrassing New England streak to start again.
Week 16: at New Orleans Saints. Look, I don't want to be "that guy" but if the season goes the way I think it will with Justin Fields, the Jets might be looking at a top five draft pick in 2026 in a draft ripe with quarterbacks. The Saints could be in a similar situation and the loser of this game might be in line for a better spot in April than the winner.
Primetime matchups
The Jets have three games that are stand alone.
Week 4: at Miami Dolphins (Monday, Sep. 29, 7:15p.m ET, ESPN)
Week 6: vs Denver Broncos in London (Sunday, Oct. 12 9:30 a.m. ET, NFLN)- While technically not a "primetime" game, it will be the only game on at 9:30a.m.
Week 11: at New England Patriots (Thursday, Nov. 13, 8:15p.m. ET, Amazon)
Strength of Schedule (based off Vegas win totals, not 2024 record)
Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis does this cool thing every year where he ranks teams' strength of schedule based off Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season. He doesn't base it off the standard last-year's-record model and it makes a lot more sense, because of all the change teams go through during the offseason.
The Jets are dead center of the pack sitting at 16th overall. They are going to earn every win and every loss.

Revenge Games on the Jets' 2025 schedule
- Both Patriots matchups: The Jets wanted Mike Vrabel bad to be their head coach and he used them to get New England to make a move. The Jets will have a chance to make them look bad.
- Week 3 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Speaking of head coaches, the Jets will have a shot to take on their former head coach Todd Bowles, who is top guy with the Bucs.
- Week 1 vs Pittsburgh Steelers: Revenge for Fields or revenge for Rodgers?
3 Must-Watch Matchups
Jets OL vs. Dallas DL- The last time the Jets played the Cowboys, the Jets offensive line was embarrassed by Michah Parsons and crew. The Jets have put a lot of resources into the OL and it will be time to show them off.
Jets secondary vs. Tampa Bay- After re-signing Chris Godwin and drafting Emeka Egbuka, the Bucs have a plethora of offensive weapons for QB Baker Mayfield. Letting D.J. Reed walk in free agency will come back to bite them if the new look Jets' secondary can't hold the Bucs down.
Sauce Gardner vs. Ja'Marr Chase – Simply put, two of the best at their positions going head to head.
