The NFL recently released the full regular season schedule for every team around the league. After the schedule release, the first things fans look for tend to be the season opener, the home opener, and how many prime time games their favorite squad got.
For the Jags, their bye week may be one of the most important pieces of this year's schedule for them. They came out on the positive end when it comes to exactly when they'll get some extra time off.
Jaguars land one of the best bye weeks possible
The Jags have been assigned a Week eight bye week this season. Landing a bye near the middle of the full season slate is usually preferred by players around the NFL, and coaches have come to appreciate it as well.
Grabbing this sort of midseason off week avoids getting it in the first third of the season. That can allow players to get downtrodden and worn out by the final weeks of the regular season.
On the flip-side, the late bye week can come simply "too late" in some instances. A bye week after Week 10 can also be a disadvantage.
By that point, you've got plenty of players who are banged up or have suffered injuries due to the constant push to get to the bye week and additional rest. That can also force a staff's hand when it comes to their depth along the roster.
