Brian Flores schedules 3 head coaching interviews

It was only a matter of time for teams to schedule Flores head coaching interviews. He led a fantastic defense all season for the Vikings, ranking:

  • 5th in scoring defense
  • 2nd in rushing yards allowed
  • 28th in passing yards allowed

Flores is a great candidate to be a head coach, especially considering how well he's done with the Vikings. His time with the Pittsburgh Steelers helped him understand how to better interact with his players, something that was an issue with the Miami Dolphins.

The other aspect here is the lawsuit that Flores has against the National Football League for their hiring practices. The Dolphins and Houston Texans are teams that are specifically named in the suit as well. If a team were to hire Flores, they would have to be comfortable with that lawsuit.

It was reported on Tuesday that the Jets have an interest in a trio of Vikings with Flores as the head coach, Ryan Grigson as the general manager, and Josh McCown as the offensive coordinator.

If Flores were to accept a head coaching job, the Vikings would received compensatory third-round draft picks in both the 2025 and 2026 NFL Drafts.
