The Las Vegas Raiders started the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on a roll. This is a game that the Chargers kind of needed to win if they want a good draw in the postseason. And, why not make their life more difficult if you're the Raiders, considering there really isn't anything else you're playing for?
It started off hot, as the Raiders were able to get a field goal, and then score a beautiful touchdown between Aidan O'Connell and Jakobi Meyers. The two were in sync the whole way, and have been during the entire game.
And, to make things even better, the two of them achieved a pretty cool feat together, each, after that touchdown pass from O'Connell that saw him fit the ball right into a tight window. While O'Connell ended up getting hurt, and we all hope he is okay, the two were showing out, and AOC helped Meyers hit his first career 1,000-yard season.
Here are a few of the accomplishments the two achieved according to the Raiders PR team:
QB Aidan O'Connell connects with WR Jakobi Meyers for a 25-yard touchdown pass. O'Connell logs his 19th career touchdown pass and Meyers now has 20 career receiving touchdowns. WR Jakobi Meyers has now passed Antonio Gates (386) for the fourth most receptions among undrafted players in their first 90 games in NFL history.
Next year we will see Aidan O'Connell as the quarterback for the Raiders, maybe not the starter, or maybe he will be, but he will be on the team next year. He has shown tremendous growth and an ability to bounce back time and time again. He showed that he had a little juice to him, too.
As for Meyers, outside of Bowers, he has been the most consistent piece on this offense. And, when you count his time since he has been in Las Vegas, he has been the ultimate pro, showing up to work every day doing exactly what's expected of him, and not complaining about everything like Davante Adams did.
The two of these dudes deserve these achievements. The Raiders were on a two-game win streak against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints. Unfortunately, a loss to the Los Angeles Chargers is how their season will end.
