The San Francisco 49ers have a big number of pending free agents set to hit the open market this offseason. Though moves to keep some of those players around will not be made in the immediate future, the Niners can start to come to agreements to keep practice squad players around.

Players who ended the year on the practice squad will see their contracts expire next Monday, but the 49ers can retain those players by signing them to reserve/futures deals.

Such signings can be made before the expiry of those practice squad contracts.
