The Kansas City Chiefs' chase for NFL history continues, and it comes after the team does something they hadn't done all season long.

The Chiefs officially defeated the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game to advance to Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesar's Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sun, Feb 9, 2025, at 6:30 PM ET. The game will be broadcast on FOX.

The win over the Bills marked the first time all season long that the Chiefs had scored more than 31 points in a single game. You have to go all the way back to Nov. 26, 2023, to find the last time K.C. scored 31 or more points in a game. This came without scoring a single point in the third quarter of the game and the offense going completely cold.

Samaje Perine was the man they went to help ice the game and advance to the Super Bowl from the AFC title game. He hadn't touched the ball all game long, but he did just enough when his number was called.

Super Bowl LIX will be a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, in which the Chiefs defeated the Eagles 38-35 on a 27-yard Harrison Butker field goal. Philly will look for redemption, and its first Super Bowl win since Super Bowl LII. Kansas City will aim for history and become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowl titles.
