A former Tennessee Vols player is reportedly heading out west to play for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.

Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter is reportedly set to transfer to Colorado after taking a recent visit to Boulder.

Salter spent the last four seasons at Liberty after starting his career at Tennessee as a member of the Vols' 2021 recruiting class.

The Texas native never played in a game for Tennessee as he was dismissed from the team the summer before the 2021 season.

Salter had an incredible 2023 season at Liberty, passing for 2,876 yards and 32 touchdowns while rushing for 1,089 yards and 12 touchdowns. His numbers weren't quite as good in 2024 — 2,473 total yards and 22 total touchdowns (passing and rushing) — but he's still an obviously dynamic player who will be a solid replacement for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders (who will be off to the NFL after the 2024 season).
