The Houston Texans have won the division, again, and are now just one division title away from tying the Indianapolis Colts with the most in the AFC South. But, even with a playoff berth ahead of them, the Texans still have a lot of things that need to be fixed.
Now, they have some injuries, and those can't necessarily be fixed, but they have things that can be fixed, like issues on the offense. Their biggest issue there has to be the offensive line and how they are protecting C.J. Stroud.
He was pressured nine times last week against the Miami Dolphins, which is not something that is acceptable for a playoff team with a great QB like Stroud.
On Tuesday, they had some reinforcements come back off of IR. Well, you can call it that if you want. One of two things will happen, they will either get help to the offensive line, or it will make it worse. The Texans are hoping that it helps, especially with depth in case someone gets injured.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Texans are activating former first-round pick Kenyon Green. Green had struggled earlier this season, but at this point, they need to try something different.
This could help them, you know, provide a spark to the offensive, or, it could make the offensive line worse, as he was struggling a lot before he went on IR. But, there was a reason this guy was chosen as high as he was in the 2022 NFL Draft.
He has the skill level, it just all needs to come together. And, hey, let's say he does perform well if he even is thrown back into the starting lineup, who's to say that he even fixes the offensive line?
The Texans have to do something, though, because the playoff teams they are going to face, are going to be that much better than what they have been playing.
Houston Texans won’t have to play an extra playoff game in Week 18 like they did last season
They did it back to back years now.
