One of the top players in the NCAA transfer portal says he's been offered by the Tennessee Vols.
Washington State transfer running back Wayshawn Parker, who was a true freshman in 2024, told 247Sports that Tennessee is the one of the programs that's extended an offer to him.
"The offers I've got are Arizona, USC, Boise State, San Diego State, Colorado State, Arkansas, Syracuse, Ole Miss, Cal, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Utah," said Parker to 247Sports.
Parker is currently rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 running back in the transfer portal.
Parker, 6-foot/199 lbs from Sacramento, CA, is a former three-star recruit who signed with Washington State during the 2024 recruiting cycle.
As a true freshman in 2024, Parker rushed for 735 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.
The Vols could have a need at running back with junior Dylan Sampson expected to head to the NFL after a superb 2024 season. Peyton Lewis, DeSean Bishop, and Cam Seldon are the next three options on the depth chart.
Parker played in an air raid system at Washington State. Josh Heupel doesn't run the air raid at Tennessee, but there are some similarities in Tennessee's offense and an air raid offense — which would help expedite Parker's transition to the Vols' offense (if he chose to transfer to UT).
For now, Parker's only scheduled visits are to Arizona, USC, Ole Miss, and Utah.
Tennessee will need to get a visit from Parker to have a legitimate chance to land the talented young running back.
