There's plenty of reason to believe the Buffalo Bills will be a tough out in the playoffs, locking up the No. 2 seed in the AFC and planning to host the No. 7 seed on Wild Card Weekend. First and foremost, they have Josh Allen, which will keep them in every game.
One thing that has shown up time and time again this season and will help them tremendously against he tougher competition is their ability to dominate after halftime.
The Bills went into halftime up only 12-0. Then they scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter, running away with it. Buffalo went up 40-0 before pulling their starters and allowing a couple late touchdowns with the backups in.
Not only was the offense rolling, but the defense got it going as well. The second half saw the Buffalo defense clamp down on the run, generate more pressure, and rise to the occasion.
Buffalo has been killing it in the second half all season. We've consistently seen the team prove that they are capable of making elite halftime adjustments, slowing down opposing offenses while Josh Allen and company pour it on. Buffalo leads the league in total second half scoring, second half points per game, and second half scoring margin.
The defense also turns it on. After halftime, Buffalo has a +20 turnover margin, which is best in the NFL. Defensive coordinator Bobby Babich has done a terrific job of adjusting his plans as the game goes along. Being able to start fast is great, but being able to make adjustments and finish strong will be a huge benefit in the playoffs.
