Bills' superstar and franchise pillar quarterback Josh Allen appeared to suffer an injury in Buffalo's narrow victory over the New England Patriots on a running play. The next play after the injury, Allen looked to attempt a deep pass down the field which was way off target. Clearly Allen's grip on the ball wasn't what it needed to be.
Fortunately for Allen, and for Bills fans, it was a hit to the elbow that he suffered that took the feeling out of his throwing hand temporarily, something that was likely harder for him to shake because of the freezing temperatures in Orchard Park.
There's no way to know just how much the injury played a role in the production in this game, but Allen's game lacked the production and the command that we've come accustomed to seeing from him in recent weeks.
Allen finished the game 16/29 for 154 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, with six runs for 30 rushing yards.
Despite Allen's low performance, the Bills were still able to pull out a win, but in many ways, it didn't feel good enough. The team came out lacking urgency and was getting bullied in the first quarter in particular. New England posted touchdowns against the Buffalo defense on their first two possessions, and they were able to control the line of scrimmage and the clock, giving the Bills only one series with the ball the entire first quarter.
There are plenty of questions coming out of this victory, but fortunately, it doesn't seem like Allen's throwing hand is going to be one of them.
Buffalo Bills’ victory over the New England Patriots falls short of delivering good vibes
