Steelers Week 17 Injury Report (TUE)
Observations:
- George Pickens: After logging full participation on his lone practice of the week, it was always a good sign for his return, and that is set to be official after Tuesday's report
- Joey Porter Jr.: Porter Jr. went down with a knee injury against the Baltimore Ravens and is feared to have a PCL injury that will surely sideline him on Christmas, but potentially until the playoffs
- Donte Jackson: Porter's running mate, after missing last week's game with a back injury, the Steelers are set to have Jackson return to the lineup though Cory Trice Jr. and James Pierre should expect a workload as well
- DeShon Elliott: Pittsburgh desperately missed Elliott last week against a heavy Baltimore Ravens rushing attack, but he will be back against the Chiefs
- Larry Ogunjobi: Larry O's presence was also missed tremendously against Baltimore and he will be a feature along the defensive front against a strong interior offensive line
- Justin Fields: Fields has been dealing with an abdominal injury after getting hit against the Philadelphia Eagles. On Tuesday he was determined to be questionable
- Ben Skowronek: A strong contributor early on in the Ravens game, Skowronek exited the game and was said to be a long shot all week per Mike Tomlin, making his declaration no surprise
"From a health standpoint, I’ll outline some things. Some guys that didn't play yesterday who have a real chance this week [are] Justin Fields, DeShon Elliott, Donte Jackson, George Pickens, and Larry Ogunjobi – all have an opportunity to play this week…
"…But again, we'll see where the week leads us from their inclusion. The two guys that didn't finish yesterday's game, Joey Porter with a knee and Ben Skowronek with a hip, their availability remains questionable. I just don't have a lot of new information on those guys, given that we just played last night, and we're still in the process of assessing the state of some of those things. But anybody that didn't makeit out of the stadium yesterday on a four-day turnaround is probably going to have a difficult time showing for this one."
