The Kansas City Chiefs have been without Eric Bieniemy for a few years now, dating back to two years ago when he decided to leave and become an offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders so he could prove he was worthy enough for an NFL head coaching job. Most thought his success was too reliant on Andy Reid.

And, since leaving the Chiefs, it hasn't been all roses and sunshine. His stop in Washington wasn't successful, and this last year he went to help his friend Deshaun Foster at UCLA as an offensive coordinator, and they were ranked 117th in total offense in the country.

He and UCLA agreed to part ways. And, some would say, 'Okay, that means he's fired.' And not necessarily. He sees it as an ability to go back to the NFL. Here is the statement from his agent that came out on Thursday:

Eric and UCLA mutually parted ways today as previously planned. He’s still getting paid by the Commanders. After interviewing for head coaching jobs last year, he wanted to stay active and busy. So, he decided to go help out Deshaun Foster, who is like his little brother, at UCLA as opposed to sitting out a year. The plan was always to return to the NFL in 2025, and he’s looking forward to the opportunities ahead.

The Chiefs don't necessarily need another coach on the staff, but that doesn't mean that Andy Reid won't bring him on. They are very good friends, and Reid knows what Bieniemy can do as an offensive coordinator. For now, he will just try to find the best NFL job he can get, which shouldn't be too hard,

The Chiefs are set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers this week before playing the Cleveland Browns.

This is a franchise that usually tends to keep its name out of stuff like that but has somehow failed to do so lately. Eric Bieniemy, the Chiefs' former offensive coordinator, has taken a job in […]
