With the NFL trade deadline just a week away, things are getting busy around the league.
Yet another WR trade has gone down, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are yet again left watching.
Except in this case, there is nothing they could do but stand by and observe the Baltimore Ravens trade for a WR they offloaded just a few months ago, Diontae Johnson
Panthers trade Diontae Johnson to Ravens
The Steelers got tired of the headache that was Johnson, with things boiling over last season following multiple on and off field incidents. It was clear that his production no longer outweighed his behavior, and the Steelers acquired Donte Jackson in return for Johnson from the Carolina Panthers.
But make no mistake about it, Johnson is still a good WR and one of the best separators in the entire league. And if you want to point to his time in Carolina as a drop off, well im not sure Jerry Rice could produce in that environment at this point and time.
And now Johnson joins an offense with a multtide of weapons at skill positions and of course, a two time MVP at signal caller via Lamar Jackson. Add in the fact that Johnson now gets to play the team that drafted and traded him away two times this year, and he will be motivated to say the least.
Maybe the move will motivate Pittsburgh to pick up the phone and make the WR trade everyone has been waiting on.
