The Minnesota Vikings made a massive trade on Tuesday, acquiring left tackle Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars for draft pick compensation.
The Vikings needed to make a move of some kind at left tackle and they did open up a roster spot earlier on Tuesday. Robinson has been with the Jaguars since they selected him with the 34th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He started all 91 of the games he's played in but has missed some time with injury. Robinson played in just two games in 2018 and nine games in 2023.
When taking a look at PFF grades, Robinson looks like an average left tackle. His overall grade this season is trending to be the highest of his career at 69.4 with a pass blocking grade of 72.2. Robinson has allowed four sacks and 15 pressures so far this season.
What will be interesting is to see what the draft pick compensation is for Robinson. Right now, Robinson is slated to make $8.8 million base salary and will also be due per-game roster bonuses. The Jaguars might have had to eat some salary to make this deal work. We will provide updates when we have them.
