On Monday evening, news broke that 2026 three-star defensive lineman Tyson Bacon committed to the Tennessee Vols.

Bacon, 6-foot-4/239 lbs, is originally from Warren, MI, but he currently resides in Hoover, AL and attends Hoover High School.

Bacon actually committed to Tennessee on Saturday night after the Vols' 24-17 win against Alabama.

Here's the moment that Bacon told Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel that he was committing to the Volunteers.

It's hard to imagine anyone in East Tennessee having a better weekend than Heupel. The fourth-year Vols head coach led Tennessee to win against Alabama just a week after the Vols beat Florida. And he's added a couple of commits to UT's 2026 recruiting class (four-star offensive lineman Brandon Anderson also committed to Tennessee after the win against Bama). That's quite a way to cap the month of October.
