The Tennessee Vols were named this week by Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney as a "team to watch" for 2027 four-star cornerback Joshua Dobson after his recent visit to Rocky Top.

"No leaders have emerged this early for the 2027 four-star cornerback from Fort Mill, SC, but his weekend visit to Tennessee was memorable and could set the track for his recruitment," wrote Gorney about Dobson this week. "More than a dozen schools have already offered and while Dobson is in the very early stages, the Vols will be a team to watch after this visit."

Dobson, 6-foot-1/175 lbs from Fort Mill, SC (just south of Charlotte, NC), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 cornerback in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of South Carolina. He's also rated as the No. 28 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

South Carolina, Texas, Virginia Tech, Arkansas, and Texas A&M are among the programs that have already offered Dobson.

It's still very early in Dobson's recruitment, but it's certainly a good sign for the Vols that they're in the mix early for the talented cornerback. Dobson has the potential to be a five-star recruit by the time he signs with a program in a couple of years. Five-star cornerbacks don't come around often. And when they do come around, they can be game-changers for a college football program.
