Head coach Kevin O'Connell did say that after his side work on Wednesday, they decided to shut him down and let him continue to heel.
The only two losses the Vikings have this season have been with Cashman out, a 31-29 loss to the Detroit Lions and and 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Teams have taken advantage of Ivan Pace Jr. in coverage and that could become an issue again.
Taimani has been an important run defender for the Vikings over the first few weeks and he will be missed. O'Connell also mentioned that this could be the game where seventh round pick Levi Drake Rodriguez suits up for the first time.
Another notable element is T.J. Hockenson is not on the injury report and he is a full go for Sunday night. Dalton Risner is not on the report either but there hasn't been a roster move to promote him to the active roster.
The Vikings take on the Colts Sunday night on NBC.
