The Tennessee Vols announced earlier this week that they'll be wearing their "dark mode" uniforms against the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend.

Tennessee also wore black uniforms in their 44-6 win against Kentucky in 2022.

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops said on Thursday that he's expecting a hostile crowd at Neyland Stadium on Saturday night because of the way Vols fans have embraced the dark mode theme for the game.

"It's an SEC road game, it'll be a tough environment," said Stoops. "I didn't see it, I'm not really on social media, but I understand that — it's pretty cool that they got a black out going. And fans have embraced it. I'm sure it'll be a hostile environment. It generally is when you play in the SEC, particularly at night. So it'll be a challenge."

It sounds like Stoops fully understands that Neyland is going to be a madhouse on Saturday night. Of course, it's not like Stoops is surprised. He's coached in plenty of wild games at Neyland Stadium over the last decade — Stoops understands as well as anyone how crazy it can get for a night game on Rocky Top.
