Cleveland Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was placed on the injured reserve on Saturday and he will have to miss four games. That is not the only bad news the star linebacker received.

The NFL has fined Owusu-Koramoah $11,817 for a play that a flag was not called on in their recent win over the Baltimore Ravens. Early in the third quarter, Owusu-Koramoah tackled Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and he did it by kicking his leg out.

That kick is going to cost him over 10 grand now, per the NFL.

Owusu-Koramoah was not the only Browns player fined. Backup linebacker Mohamoud Diabate and cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. both were fined from the Ravens game as well. Diabate was fined $5,130 for a face mask penalty in the third quarter. Emerson was fined $8,012 for an unnecessary roughness penalty by way of a hip drop tackle in the third quarter.

Against the Ravens, Owusu-Koramoah made seven tackles before he exited in the third quarter with a neck injury that caused him to be immobilized and taken to a local hospital. Owusu-Koramoah stayed in the hospital overnight for precautionary reasons and was ruled out for the Week 9 game against the Los Chargers earlier in the week.

On the season, the Pro Bowl linebacker has made 60 tackles, three sacks, and an interception. He continues to be a tackle-for-loss machine and a rangy linebacker who is so important for Cleveland’s defense. The Browns will miss his presence badly for four games. Owusu-Koramoah was well on his way to a second straight Pro Bowl prior to the neck injury.

An unfortunate weekend for Owusu-Koramoah, who will now be giving up a bit of cash along with missing at least four games.
