How often do you see a head coach in the National Football League received a comparison to Oprah Winfrey? Needless to say, it isn't often.
Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell experienced that on Thursday morning when he appeared on NFL Network's Good Morning Football. He does many interviews, but this one ended with a heartwarming moment that drew comparisons to Winfrey.
During the interview, O'Connell told host Jamie Erdahl that she would be sounding the Gjallarhorn at the start of their week nine game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Erdahl has covered multiple Vikings games for NFL Network over the years, including the comeback against the Indianapolis Colts and this year's game in London against the New York Jets. It's also special because Erdahl is a Minnesotan.
She graduated from Breck High School and is proud of it. So proud of it that she took a shot at fellow Minnesotan Tom Pelissero earlier in the week for going to Edina High School. If you've never heard of Edina before, it's where Adam Banks was from in The Mighty Ducks and how the nickname of "Cake Eater" was born.
Needless to say, this drew a great reaction from Erdahl, who started tearing up. Sounding the Gjallarhorn is a great honor and she will get to do it in front of a sold out hometown crowd in week nine.
