Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold has had a tremendous start to the season and he was recognized by the National Football League by being named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.
It's not too much of a surprise that Darnold was given the honor ahead of multiple other players in the NFC. He's played incredible football this season and leads the league in the following categories:
- Touchdown passes: 11 (only player in double digits)
- Passer rating: 118.9
- Longest pass: 97 yards
- Adjusted yards/attempt: 9.59
- Passing TD percentage: 10.4%
Not only is Darnold great in those categories but he ranks highly in multiple others.
- Passing yards: 932 (7th)
- Yards/attempt: 8.8 (2nd)
- Yards/completion: 12.8 (4th)
- Net yards/attempt: 7.49 (4th)
- Completion percentage: 68.9% (T-10th)
- QBR: 73.6 (3rd)
