The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading into the biggest test of the year against the Dallas Cowboys.
Both teams are facing major injury concerns, with the Cowboys taking a big blow to their WR corps on Wednesday.
Well, things were mixed for the Steelers in their first injury report of the week on Wednesday. Here's what changed and stayed the same on Thursday:
Steelers Week 5 Injury Report (Thursday)

Observations:
- QB Russell Wilson: Despite the statement from Mike Tomlin that Wilson would ramp up his participation level, Wilson was still limited on Wednesday. Thursday was the same, leaving many to guess exactly what coach Tomlin meant by an increased workload in practice.
- RB Jaylen Warren: Nursing a knee injury that is separate from his hamstring, Warren is likely to be out again against the Cowboys given his status on Wednesday. That was all but confirmed by another DNP on Thursday.
- OLB Nick Herbig: Perhaps the most concerning of the nonparticipants on Wednesday, Herbig is starting in place of Alex Highsmith who also is out against the Cowboys. On Thursday, Herbig was upgraded to a limited participant and it should be noted that he did finish the game against the Indianapolis Colts.
- OL Isaac Seumalo: Back as a full participant for the fist time all season on Wednesday, the news bodes well for a Steelers line that has been decimated by injuries. On Thursday, Seumalo was back as a full participant as he prepares for his regular-season debut.
- RB Cordarrele Patterson: Patterson was injured against the Indianapolis Colts, unable to finish the game despite a strong start. A DNP to start the week on Wednesday was followed by another on Thursday.
- DT Keeanu Benton: Benton was a part of Coach Tomlin's Tuesday rundown of injuries, and while it's not great to see him on the Wednesday report, a limited designation is better than no participation. On Thursday, Benton returned to practice in a full capacity
- DT Larry Ogunjobi: Larry O popped up on Thursday's report as a limited participant with a groin injury, making Friday a final determinant in his status
Davante Adams should consider Steelers as trade destination instead of settling with Aaron Rodgers’ Jets
Here’s why Davante Adams’ new colors should be black and gold opposed to green and white.
