The 47-10 domination of Jacksonville Jaguars that saw Josh Allen bring home the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award for the league-leading 13th time since 2018 continues to feel sweeter and sweeter.
Not only are the Bills 3-0 and in driver's seat in the AFC East, and the vibes are immaculate, but head coach Sean McDermott offered some exciting injury news to Bills Mafia.
Taron Johnson and Terrel Bernard are trending up
After saying that Taron Johnson and Terrel Bernard are "improving" and that they'll "do a little more this week" despite not being active for Sunday Night Football against the Ravens, McDermott was asked if they can rule out either player going on Injured Reserve.
"I would hope so. I think they're trending in the right direction. I hope we don't have to do that. If so, we've wasted a couple weeks here, but I think we're rather confident about their timeline, and it's going to probably bump up into that two and a half to four week area. But I just feel like, where we're at with it, is we're moving forward in a good way, and we are looking forward to getting those guys back," McDermott said.
This is a huge step in the right direction, particularly regarding Johnson, who was lost in the Week 1 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals with a forearm injury. To this point, there had been no comments made about the severity or about a timeline to return for one of the Bills' most important players in the secondary.
The Bills are 3-0 and have been missing arguably their two best defensive players throughout this stretch. Whenever they're fully healthy and ready to return, it will provide a huge boost to a defense that is already doing a terrific job.
