Injuries were a topic both before and during the Cincinnati Bengals' first home win of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Three starters for the offense were out for the week, and one of the team's star rookies and another key starter on defense went down during the afternoon.
Head coach Zac Taylor offered insight on every injury the Bengals have to worry about as they enter a shortened week leading up to "Thursday Night Football" against the Baltimore Ravens.
TE Erick All Jr.
Taylor confirmed last night's report that All did tear the same ACL from last year in his right knee.
"Horrible for him," Taylor said of All. "He obviously rehabbed, put himself in a position from a previous one a year ago, and did all the things he could do to help us win and just a guy you love being around and appreciate.
"He knows this process, he's done it before. We'll figure out all the ins and outs are, surgery, how long, all that. But it's unfortunate for him."
WR Tee Higgins, LT Orlando Brown Jr.
Neither Higgins nor Brown practiced all last week and ended up inactive against Las Vegas. A shortened week of practice isn't ideal for them, but Taylor isn't ruling them out for Thursday night.
"We'll see. We are limited with our field work, but both those guys have the right attitude about it," Taylor said of Higgins and Brown. "Step one is they both want to do it, and now, just physically we'll put them through everything we can in the next couple of days to see where they can help us."
RB Zack Moss
Moss appeared on last Friday's injury report with a neck injury and didn't play Sunday. There's no real timetable for his return as Taylor and the team will learn more this week.
"He's got a neck issue that we're working through," Taylor said of Moss. "Hopefully [we'll get] more information this week."
Taylor said Moss' injury first came to light between Thursday night and Friday morning. Fellow running back Chase Brown suffered a bruise on Sunday and
"I think it's important that you have another guy that can take some of the work off of him," Taylor said of managing Brown's workload without Moss. "Whether that's a couple carries, whether that's some other snaps in some other areas. He has proven that he's a durable guy and can do a lot of stuff for us. So, excited to see him in this continued role."
DT B.J. Hill
Hill only played 12 snaps Sunday before leaving the game with a rib injury and was declared out at halftime. Fortunately, Taylor was relatively optimistic about Hill's status a day later.
"Better than expected," Taylor said of Hill's Injury. "So we'll let time pass on that one but I'd say better than I would've thought coming out of yesterday."
‘It was absolutely the right decision’ — Zac Taylor sounds off on sidelining Jermaine Burton vs Raiders
Burton was inactive Sunday for a good reason.
